SacAnime Con

Well - Sacramento has a con about every 6 months. We went over this weekend 13-15 for Kelsey's 14th birthday - and for the guests that they had coming.

The hotel space was odd - they had things far apart and you had to go through the lobby of the hotel to get to or from the panel room and main events room. All the normals were not amused - as I think the hotel was not either. Typical to cons, there are always those that cop a squat wherever they are -so there seemed to be a lot of sitting in hall ways and taking the space in the lobby reserved for those waiting for the shuttle to the airport.

I think it could have been better, not that it was bad - just a bit odd really. There were delays for most of the scheduled events - don't know if those things could have been prevented or not.

The Actor guests were Chris Patton, Crispin Freemen and Spike Spencer.
Spike had super funny stories - which he also sells on his web site (www.worldospike.com) Crispin did a voice actor workshop - showing how hard it really is to match the lip flaps and not sound like you are trying to match the lips flaps. Chris did a panel with his band - PLID - which was cute and funny - he sang 'The Panda' song from one of his anime jobs - OMG funny! need to find it. PLID also performed - they have a myspace so you can hear them there if your are so inclined - it was a lot of fun really.

The last panel of the con was the three of them together. Aimee asked that they sing happy birthday to Kelsey - as it was Kelsey's 14th birthday - and they did. Well, Crispin and Chris did - Spike did hand jesters - very cute really. Then we got to have them sign things, they were really all very nice, but not as accessible as the AOD guests last year.

I have pictures in my photobucket - hopefully you'll be able to see them - and if not please let me know and I'll try to fix the problem

http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y135/cjflutterbye/SacAnime%20July%202007/

Ok - for whatever reason, afer nearly 25 years of being together, it looks like we are going to get married.

How weird is that?

We have tried this before a couple of years ago - but it didn't take - I just could not get 'into' it.

Now?
I have a place picked out in Vegas. A gazabo that is all lite up with white lights. Nice package deal is offered, pictures, video, flowers,

We have a month set, not quite the date, but that'll come soon I think.
We have rings picked out.

I'm looking at dresses - wedding dresses ... I'm to old for a wedding dress - at least what I see on-line. - ew - But I think I know what it is that I like, so I just need to find it and find a size that I can wear. I do have time to drop a dress size, maybe even a couple if I work real hard at it - bleh

Maybe I'll get married in purple.
http://martinmccrea.com/asymmetrical-venise/#

Long time, and not a thing really

So. Yeah.

Easter is a couple of days off. I suppose most people are aware of that.

I'm around
I'm doing pretty well I guess.

Oh - I do have to tell these two stories.

Ok - my youngest daughter (she's 13) scratched her nose with her uber sharp finger nails and making the tip of her nose bleed. She put a bandage on it and then make a scarstic comment about how no-one would notice the huge band-aid on her nose.
I told her to tell them that it was a grind-stone accident. - and yes - both of my kids booed me. (my first born daughter later said that it was good pun-isment (to which I booed))

so then - last nighte we were watching tv, and there is an ad for a cell phone with a camera that uses a mermaid - have this phone with a camera for the 'wow' moments.
As the mermaid is flipping back into the water, the guy askes if he can call her.
I said "She's a mermaid, she doesn't have a phone" my youngest daughter says back
"Maybe she has a shell-phone" ... yes - we all laughted and told her to leave the room.

I think I've raised my girls goodly. LOL
Smart and funny - great combination.

I hope everyone is doing well in what ever part of the country or world that you are in
Happy Easter.

He has risen indeed.

and here's Manie!

so
My life hasn't changed much. That's why I haven't updated, nothing much really happens.
I did buy a new entertainment center right before Christmas (yes, Merry Christmas to me). Which I am now paying off.
Once it is paid off, I can think about the TV I want. I can fit up to a 60 in TV on the entertainment center - so more debt for me.

But at this moment - I am broke. It should get better soon, but in the meanwhile, I have curtailed all extra spending.
My best example of that - I cancelled my hair cut and color at the beginning of January and moved it to the 31. Then I
cancelled the color part of it too. So, my white - yes - white hair is growing in - it's been about 10 weeks, so I have
a couple of inches of 'yew'showing. My cut is in a couple of days, I can't wait, and I'm going to try to have him do something a
bit different - but - really, it is his hair, I just wear it. LOL

I'm really depressed about my job. I love the work, I just am hating the pressure that comes with that job. I've been looking
internally for something else to do, but nothing that I would like to do has an opening.
All things in time I suppose.

And now for the real news>
My dad, bless him, had surgery on Monday, January 22, to put in a defibulator. For those that don't know what that is - it is sort of
like a pacemaker, but only works when his heart rate becomes dangerously slow or irregular.
Surgery day was long, I was at the hospital all day. After surgery and once the cobwebs cleared dad was very uncomfortable, but
the morphine helped, lol -

He stayed one night in the hospital, and was released the next day, home by noon. I talked to him Wednesday and he was doing just fine.

Friday he had his follow up with the surgeon. He is healing fine, but - Yes, there is a but - something in the device or the probe, or the
leads are not working. So? What does that mean?
He has to have the sugery again! Does that suck or what?
At this moment, and subject to change on the whim of a doctor, he is supposed to have surgery on Thursday, Feburary 1, in the afternoon.
**sigh**

I suppose, now that we know what to expect, things will be alright. Still. Who needs to surgeries in 8 days?

It really isn't the surgery that I worry about, it is the fact that dad really has problems post surgically - he is prone to blood clots
in his legs, several of them over his adult life time, and most can be contributed to him having had a surgery or procedure where there was
a mark amount of time where he could not move around. There is really nothing we can do about it -just wait and watch and pay attention
and hope for the best.

Ok - that's all. Things are things and they are what they are.

Still here

I know that I haven't updated in forever.
But, when I don't have anything to say - sorta hard to update.

Thanksgiving was good. We had 24 family and extended family -I wish I had more time to visit rather than the other stuff that has to be done - especially when it was announced that my aunt and uncle won't come back up here again - it is about a three hour car ride for them - and it is no longer something that they can do - up and back same day - because they don't like hotels. Whatever. I guess I'll just have to visit them instead.

Christmas was good. I got a few nice things- area rug is probably the best of it - it fits nicely into the house. I also got an super pair of slippers. Holidays always bum me out. I think it is my kids that always disappoint me. I think that it is my fault - I must not have taught them correctly.

I didn't do anything for New Year's eve. I don't usually do much anyway - to scary to be out on the road to many people driving after partying.

During all this time, I did buy a new entertainment center - one big enough for a huge-ass tv - which I can't buy yet because I need to pay off the entertainment center. I also totally move around my bedroom - which was a huge undertaking for me to do alone, but I did it anyway. Scott would have helped, and was going to - but I just didn't want to wait. The shock value was great. He was all "Whoa - You moved it all" You have to know, I have this huge captain's bed - huge! Heavier than .. well.. everything else in my room. We also got rid of an old dresser, and the room looks huge for it all - so yeah - nice. We (meaning Scott)are going to buy a 32 - 37 inch flat panel tv to hang on the wall in the bedroom too - that will be super sweet- we can get rid of the piece of shit corner tv stand - get something small enough to put the game units on, DVD, sound system - certainly nothing as big as what is there now. So, it has been very productive at home. Work - well - I'm productive there too - I did miss a date on Thursday when I was supposed to install some logic - but I can't seem to find myself caring at all... Strike that. I don't care at all - it makes no difference in the world if that logic was there Thursday or this Tuesday - so fuck'em.

Today - January 1 - is my mom's 71st birthday. I called her this morning. She's busy all day - typical for her. That woman gets busy every year.

Then my brother called and asked if I would babysit his 7 year old son while they go shopping. I said ok - but now I find that I'm really rather pissed off about it. He's a good boy - and is playing games on the PS2. But.. I never asked anyone to watch my kids while I went shopping - I don't understand why they needed to leave him somewhere so they could go to lunch and shop for a couple of hours. There are two of them and one of him. It isn't like they were going to see a movie that he shouldn't see, or going to a bar or something. No. Just lunch and shopping for new bedroom stuff - whatever that means.

I used to shop with two little girls alone - I'm very confused and rather pissy about the situation I find myself in. It is my day off and I have a child here that is not my own. So. I think I need to talk to my brother and sis-in-law. I might not talk ... I might have to write it out. I can say things more carefully like that. Even if I did get mad at them - or visa versa- we're good family and fights are supposed to happen once in a while. I just don't see how this is normal. It is their child, he should be going shopping with his parents, not stuck at Auntie's house. I don't even know if they fed him - because they were going to lunch when they left here - but he hasn't said anything yet.

grr...

Ok - so that's the update - I want to go and play cards with my dad. Maybe I will just make that arrangement... hum... is it 2 yet?

Anybody that read all this drivel- I do hope that you have a happy and safe 2007

edit: I feel better now:

I've been trying to figure out how to write the things going on in my head - but I'm not getting anywhere - so the following maybe totally random...

In Chico, we have two high schools. Last Saturday afternoon - two boys, 17 and 18, one from each school were killed in a car accident. The 17 year old driver was going to fast on a back road -known for people running the few stop signs on the crossing streets - the skid marks were 250 feet long - and they hit a very old, very solid oak tree - both died. Both were very popular at their schools, and their church.

So. Aimee know of the boy at her school - didn't know him directly, but does have friends in common - and had a rather emotional day helping others cope. Aimee told me the day got worst -
In her French class after lunch- one of her dearest friends, Suzan, was not in class. Her French teacher told them all that Suzan's mother had suddenly died over the weekend. Aimee rather lost it... had to leave class. After composing herself, she called Suzan and talked to her - Suzan is coping - she has to get out of the apartment -was given 7 days to pack up all of her and her mom's things and get out. But she did have a place to stay, and someone helping her figure all of the legal things out. Suzan has no other living family - her mom was it. She does have a Godmother that lives about 3 hours away - who came up and left again the same day ... left. That so pisses me off. How do you leave a 17 year old to deal with packing her dead mothers' things? Suzan is a good kid. Very sweet, sorta on the shy side, very smart, Girl Scout for 10 years or so - (she will be living with a fellow Girl Scout's family} I wish I could do more - but I haven't even talked to her myself. Only Aimee has - and we did offer her any help that she needed - I would gladly clean, box, use my pickup to haul things - but I haven't heard a word.

then I get to thinking - I don't even know what I'd do now - at 40- finding a parent dead. Suzan actually told Aimee that she knew her mom was in a better place, without worries and without pain... - they still don't know what she died of. She was in her 50's. She was a nice lady, she did everything for her daughter - Suzan was her whole world.
Why do bad things happen to good people?

yeah... random - I'm not even sure I have it all out of my head yet - so much crap in here - I've been waking up at odd times during the nice - just awake - no real reason for it...
I just don't know...

It is a few days before my 40th birthday.
I wanted to be all reflective - but my flu bug seems to have taken all my reflective ability away.

I am not all that thrilled about the number 40. I'm a person who's life seems to be all 9s, and 3s with a few 6s.
'40' does nothing for me in that manner.
Still. It is just a number, not what defines me.

I have a good job
I have good kids.
I have friends that I can count on - some are even my family as well - a double blessing
My parents are both still with me.
I have a man that loves me no matter what - which I find strange - where the hell did he come from anyway? He's been with me for 24 years, through good and bad and really, really terrible - just amazing that we not only love each other - but get along better now than we ever have.

All in all I guess I can't complain - at least not about turning 40

The flu however, I can complain about -
Who's idea was it to make me sick anyway?
Don't they know that making mom sick doesn't mean mom can be sick?
Oh well. The dishes will wait. So will the dogs and cats.
I'm going to take a nap.

**mawah!** kisses to all my friends

I thought weekends were supposed to involve at least one day of 'rest'?

Saturday, I did sleep in a bit, but I cleaned my bed-room - which is not a small task, as I am the world's second worst house keeper - I must have had an inch of dust on nearly everything - and a ton of papers that need to be filed or shredded - and just stuff every where.

So, it took nearly all day for me to clean my room. I was hoping to be able to ease into Sunday - do a quick trip to get supplies and food at some point but just mostly just rest.

At 4 am, husband and I are jolted out of bed by a barking dog and the wonderfully repulsive smell of skunk spray.

What looked to be a young skunk decided to check out my back yard - and my two dogs were none to warm to the idea of the strange creature in their yard. Both dogs were sprayed and came into the house before I could shut them outside. Once there were shut-out, my boy dog kept that skunk cornered for the remaining hour and a half before I got fed up and we left for the Walmart to get the supplies, plus all the things necessary to help control/remove the smell from the dogs, and the carpet where Honey laid down, and the wall where Seiko rubbed his whole stinky body against - UGH!!

I still cannot tell any difference - not really - because the smell is in my head/nose/sinus. The carpet in my room has been sprayed repeatedly (about 3/4 of a bottle of Fabreeze worth) and the drape, and the bed, and all the blankets - just to be safe.

The wall I sprayed with a bleach cleaner - I think that helped a ton! And both dogs have been washed with a mix of quart of peroxide, baking soda, dish soap with a touch of vanilla - anything to help them smell better. I am not sure that I got enough of it on their heads where they both took direct hits - gag- I'm still dizzy and nauseated from the smell ....

At this point - 10 hours after the event - all I can hope is that the two hours of being cornered by a barking dog is enough to keep the stinking thing out of my yard - I can't do this again tomorrow night. If it does come back - I'm going to barrow my dad's .22 hand gun and if it comes back a third time I will kill it - sorry animal lovers - there is no place in my life for a skunk that thinks it can live among humans.

I have a stinking headache (yesh bad joke, but true) and I'm tired as hell.

My dad's birthday was great - had a LOT to drink - four mudslides over the course of several hours- I was not sloppy drunk - but I wasn't feeling any pain either.

On Thursday night, while packing to go to AOD - I saw the mouse in my pantry - EEEEEKK!!! I hate mice!! HATE THEM! The good news is I saw where it went to before it hid itself. Scott and the girls managed to catch it and it was released into the storm drain half a block away - I hope it was far enough. I really was all for letting the cats play with it. After all,it had been eating MY food - why not feed the cats??

Then there was the Con- Anime Over Dose in SF this last weekend. We had a ball. I've hopefully put together an interesting word and picture document to convey the highlights of this convention.

The first event that we wanted to actually attend was the 6 pm AOD opening, we had time to kill even after lunch, and walked the dealer room a couple of times - the room and the number of dealers were both smaller than I thought they would be for an event like this in SF. One table http://suckerpunchtees.com Sucker Punch Tees was selling raffle tickets for a dollar with the raffle starting at 5. So, we were there at 5 and I was the first ticket number called - got a manga and a sticker worth 13 bucks. Aimee's number was called too - she got a Trigun toy set worth 20 bucks (it's cute too).

While looking at the table of stuff after the raffle, Aimee yips in my ear - sounded for all the world like a small dog bark - and scoots away from me - Greg Dean creator of http://www.reallifecomics.com/RealLife on-line web comic - something Aimee adores. By the time I rounded up Kelsey and got to the RealLife dealer table, Aimee was in full squee and bouncing up and down with a t-shirt that Greg had signed. This same t-shirt that I had ordered and did not get but not because of anything that Greg had done. So, anyway. I got Aimee upstairs to calm down - and get a quick rest in before we hit the opening thing. She realizes that she also wanted a book from Greg. So, we go back to the dealers table and buy a book from him, and he gives her another t-shirt. Aimee went all squee again... very funny really.

So. Off to opening, we want good seats. The girls go into the big room and I had to fix a wardrobe malfunction that took maybe 2 minutes total. By the time I get there Kelsey and Aimee look like this http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/37645211/?q=by%3Acjflutterbye+in%3Ascraps+sort%3Atime Kelsey has realized that sitting right in front of her is the reason that she wanted to be there - Vic Mignogna voice actor for Edward Elric of Full Metal Alchemist.

Kelsey is in full squee and is basically not breathing. We get Kelsey calmed down I sit third in, Aimee then Kelsey on the isle. We are talking quietly behind Vic and several people that he clearly knows, and I'm already complaining that my feet hurt and my arms hurt from the busy of the day. One of them, I find out later is Miss Helen (mother of the voice actress for Winry) hears me and asks if I am 'the mom', well, yes of course.

Then she notices my Roy Mustang key chain. She says something about there being a Skirt (Miniskirt Army is the fan club for the guy that does the voice of Roy Mustang) with them. Vic, turns around to face me, in full pouty lip and says "You're not a Ranger?" I said that I plead the fifth due to present company. Then Vic says "You know, you'd get a whole lot more love if you were a Ranger. I mean I don't see Travis here lovin' on you, I'm here." To which I replied "But I'm partial to brunettes" Everyone laughed - all of them - that gave me the whole internal rush thing - inner squee as it were.

We all continued to talk with why we were at the con and Aimee blaming it on Kelsey who is totally shaking she's so excited. Vic turned to her, put his hand on her knee and said "Aw sweetie, what's your name?" and Kelsey squeaks out her name, and then Vic notices what character she is and asks "Are you Barry?" Kelsey squeaks out "Yes", Vic said that he noticed her 'blade' and then - like it couldn't get any better for her - Vic says "Can I give you a hug?" well.. gee, Kelsey totally squeaks out "yes" and launches herself out of her chair. I got this picture http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/37613735/?qo=6&q=by%3Acjflutterbye+in%3Ascraps+sort%3Atime the flash didn't got off so didn't think it would be any good, so asked to take another with the flash and he said "Awww that just means I get to hug her longer" OMG - how freaking sweet is that to a thirteen year old?

The opening thing was nice - but nothing compared to those few moments with Vic. After the opening, Vic signed Kelsey's Barry blade (a couple of people were very impressed with it too) and got another picture with Vic that Miss Helen took and said would be posted to the Risembool Ranger (Vic's fan club) web site - when I find it I'll link that too but this is the one that I took http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/37614899/?qo=5&q=by%3Acjflutterbye+in%3Ascraps+sort%3Atime

After opening, we had some time to kill before the 9 pm Guest and Industry mixer. This was a separate ticket event - so not many con go'ers were actually there- it was a lot of fun. We talked to Vic some more, bought a couple of CDs from him, and got to see him totally light up when his mom surprised him - the fan club had brought her out to see him - he was thrilled- It was very sweet. We spend the majority of the time that evening sitting in the only corner that had any light talking to Greg Dean, Aimee was in heaven. Greg is just a normal guy - but funny - we talked about everything. We met the Mega Tokyo creator (web comic) Dom - he's funnier than anything - and just working the con, not a 'guest' It was a totally great day.

Saturday and Sunday seriously lack by comparison to Friday.

Saturday was the charity auction - I did manage to score a couple of things - but most of the stuff that I knew would be worth buying I could not get into the bidding for - just to much money for me. Saturday was also the first of two Q&A for Vic Mignogna. After the Saturday panel was over, he totally went out of his way to be accessible for everyone to get an autograph or picture or just to say hi - he had the event staff find him a place to do that because the rooms were all scheduled, he just did his thing on the mezzanine - right along side the artist alley folks.

Sunday was an autograph session from 10 to 12. Aimee got to talk to Greg again, and we got this picture of Aimee with Greg http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/37616169/?qo=3&q=by%3Acjflutterbye+in%3Ascraps+sort%3Atime I got this picture http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/37616296/?qo=2&q=by%Acjflutterbye+in%3Ascraps+sort%3Atime which scares me - damn am I fat. Oh well. Everyone was so nice - it didn't matter at all.

There was a Greg Dean Q&A Panel after the autograph session. Then there was a second Vic Q&A, and he just started over from where he left off on Saturday.

Yes- totally a cool weekend. We had a blast - even if I did get lost coming out of the city - nothing new... but I don't get why SF has signs that says both 80 and 101 with a double arrow pointing two directions - I was very confused- and ranting and swearing and going on while my children were laughing at me.... we got home just the same.

I was supposed to go back to work yesterday - but called in and I'm taking three more days vacation. I was told that it has been slow - so no worries.

Yesterday - while surfing the net - I got an IM from Sue - very odd really - she wanted me to read stuff for her - ok - sure - I never have enough to read -started with Purity 11, wanted to see if it left a good impact, I ended up reading one to three chapters of P8 - P11 - a couple of them from the bits that I read should be pretty good, if/when she gets to getting them all into print.

today sue IM'd me to tell me about someone or many perhaps spaming her - I am teh confussed

Strange - I guess that's what I get for staying home.

My girls and I are going to AnimeOverdose in SF on Friday - we want to be there by 11 (so they tell me right now, we'll see how eager they are when we have to get up and actually get out by 8 am to make the 11 'deadline')
But, with the thought of Greg Dean, artist for RealLife web comic, and voice actor Vic Mignogna being there - I think they might get up for this idea.

In the last two weeks I have had my mom sew a dress for Kelsey that will pass as Barry the Chopper's green drag dress. I have also made the apron, and Scott just about has the knife done - needs paint. That is only one of Kelsey's three outfits, and they are all FMA.
Aimee is only taking one outfit, Shampoo like for the Sac con. But we are going to add the weapons - what look like balls on handles - we have the balls, and all the stuff to do it, it is just figuring out how to put them together.

Yesterday, I spend nearly all day typing out Medical and Financial Power of Attorney forms for both my mom and dad, and a Will statement for my dad, and started on his Estate Trust document - but that one I don't have all the paper work for. I did a crap load of typing yesterday - probably more tonight. The idea was to get all of this paper work done for my dad - he has to have a pacemaker put in and he didn't even want to think about it until his estate was planned out. Once I get them all typed and he agrees to everything in them - we have to go and get the Notarized - signed in front of that person, probably need to take an unrelated person too - hum..

Tomorrow, Aimee has her senior pictures for the year book.

Wednesday is my dad's 72nd birthday. The extended family is meeting at his club's bar at 1 pm - no cars allow! LOL

Thursday - don't want to make plans other than to clean the car and wash whatever it is I'm taking with me to the city. Hopefully we’ll also get Aimee’s new glasses that day – she’s going to be blind without them by Sunday.

Monday and Tuesday I'm also off of work - maybe I can get the rest of the paper work typed up and we can go and get Notarized?

I'm ranting –sorry.
I wish I had taken today and tomorrow off as well – le sigh

taken from Dawnfire and Wlfhund - I have some evilness -

You Are 34% Evil

A bit of evil lurks in your heart, but you hide it well.
In some ways, you are the most dangerous kind of evil.

How Evil Are You?

Actually - I think this is me in a nutshell - I do hide it well, except to those that are around me all the time - they know - and yes, I'll probably go to hell - but the rest of my family will be there, so I won't be alone.

And just for an update- a week from today and I will be at Anime Overdose!!! San Fransisco baby!!!
I can't wait. I still have to make a Barry the Chopper knife and apron for Kelsey, buy blue hair color and make the Shampoo ball weapon thingies for Aimee but we are ready to go to the city!!!

oh and my laptop is working again -
I had to restore back to factory specs-reload the C drive - but it fixed the problem - and as weird as it is, it seems to work better now than it did when I had those stupid boys at BestBuy strip off the AOL and load my virus protection... go figure.

mawahahahahahaaaaaa

My lap top has crashed, it will not boot. I tried a few times yesterday - start it in safe mode, go back to a day when the thing worked right, reload the windows settings - blah blah - it still did not work. So, today I'll open in safe again, burn my picture files to a CD, and reload the C drive. I'll be starting over - but it is better than not being able to use it.

My 'baby' turned 13 on July 15.
For her birthday, the family went to the Sacanime, in Sacramento. Not a bad little con, but certainly little - it was still fun.
I'll post pictures on DA in a day or two, there were a few very good costumes.
There was one guy selling hentai doujouski... (that's spelled wrong I know) and I was looking through the box - and came upon a nice inocent cover of Miroku and InuYasha - totally bishied out - and I just started to laugh - the book was clearly yaoi - and I just could not stop laughing. If I had 10 bucks left I might have gotten it... yaoi is not really my thing - but it was rather funny.

We also discovered that there is a con, Anime OverDose in San Fransico Aug 4-6. The con itself would be a hoot. I mean, a reason to dress up in SF, a city that needs no reasons to dress up? How could that NOT be fun?

But we found out that Greg Dean, artist for RealLife web comic will be there. Then, scrolling the guess list, I found out that voice actor Vic Mignogna will also be there - to which Kelsey squeed - FMA is her favorite anime, the only thing better for her would have been Mike McFarland the actor for Jean Havoc... I would have lost an eardrum then.

So - yeah, after much debating with myself, I bit the bullet and have just registered for two nights in the hotel hosting the event, and the purchased the whole weekend badge thing for the three of us - not sure Scott would go and if he does, he would not stay all the days (at least I don't think he would).
I called the girls to tell them and got more squeeness.

Now, all I need to do is rob a bank, or maybe sell a kidney -to pay for it all.

Happy half year!

There is something, a lot of things, to be said for the blessings of Alcohol.

I went to talk to my dad today at the lodge bar - love that bar - even if they do smoke there.
Just about everyone knows me, and they all know my dad.

Turns out that I'm a cheap drunk today - one and a bit of mudslide and I was three sheets....At least I knew that... I quit drinking the second mudslide and switched to sodas.
I had a lovely afternoon - got to hang with my dad, got to see guys that I don't usually see, met a couple of knew guys too - got to flirt with them all - which I have really no control over when I'm drinking... and was complemented on my figure - I was actually told not to loose my ass... okay - glad you like it - the guy took a bit of a chance by pulling a Miroku - but I let him know that I'm a hopeless flirt, but love my husband dearly, so flirting is all he'll get.
Funny - he actually said "Ah, man, you're married?" .. yes, of course, why the heck do you think there is a wedding ring on the fourth finger of my left hand?? Silly man - oh - wait - that's a redundancy! LOL

Ok - so I was much drunker than I should have been at 4 in the afternoon.
My dad took me to dinner at a local steak house -I was safe, dad drove my car. Problem was I was so drunk that I felt full and dizzy - suckage..
I had a nice small steak - which I ate half of - and a baked sweet potato, which I ate all of - the salad was gross, and the rolls - covered in melted butter -I only ate one.
By the time we left, I was feeling much more in control - I drove dad back to the bar, he went in, I came home...

Truth be told - I probably should not have driven yet - but I was as safe and careful as possible.... yes - I should have done things differently -but all is good.

I have started talking to dad about his estate planning - which totally sucks - I hate talking to him about it. He doesn't want to think about it, and I don't either - but it is not a case of IF but a case of WHEN. And it would help a lot if I knew at least where everything is... which I don't. I asked him to check his safe deposit box, and to find/name all his property, and to provide a list of those people that would need to know that I would handled things for dad in the event that he could not. Yes, we need a Power of Attorney for both Medical and Finances - we'll get there.

So, now I'm home, with my laptop, Ultimate Fighter is on (it is a repeat, but I missed half of the fights from last week) and I have NO KIDS!!!
I'm taking advantage of the remainder of my buzz... but it is nearly gone - I'm really just trying to avoid a headache at this point....
Ok all - Say HI if you are on-line and see me - I miss everyone and would love to chat and catch up if you have a moment to do so.

eeeek!

There are two dogs, and two cats in my house. And some how a mouse has seen its way fit to take up living in my pantry. I actually think it is living in my portable (ghetto) dishwasher - yuck
Both girls have seen the little vile creature just this week, Aimee opened the pantry to see a mouse at her eye level, and apparently there was screaming involved.
So I removed items from the shelves, cleaned all the shelves with soapy water, tossed the few things mouse critter has chewed on - not many of those surprisingly - and put the stuff back.
I have also pulled the portable dishwasher out of the pantry and I plan on leaving it the middle of the kitchen until we kill that damn mousy. "We" is actually the cats. Fat lazy-ass cats. Clearly they should be fired for not performing their duties - or maybe just start withholding the gooshy foods - that should do it.

In other news... I think I have some...
Oh - Scott booked the family for a trip to Disneyland the first week of October. I'm almost looking forward to it.
From killing one mouse, to seeing another.
Now, I just need some time in July to go to the coast - Monterey and/or Santa Cruz - I needs me some beach time!
I would love to get away with just Scott too - we've been talking about going up to Reno, it's about 3 hours from here - but I'd have to leave the kids some place - and I don't really want to do that to my family - but I can't leave those two alone together - it would be bad even for a night

My best girl-friend - who lives in Salem Mass now - wanted me to go out to Mass in August for the Jaws (as in movie) anniversary, and a Kevin Smith showing of Clerks II at some convenience store.
This is the same gal that tore my heart out when she told me not to come on a trip to see her last October. Even writing about it makes my insides hurt. I just cannot even think of taking a trip to see her - it is to painful still. We get along fine, talking on the Internet IM and e-mails - just as long as she doesn't ask me to travel - I just cannot do it. Even as fun as that sounds - most of me just trembles in total fear. I don't want to go down that deep dark path again - it hurt way to much.

**sigh** It's only 8:15pm and I feel like I could use a nap.
I think I need something smutty to read...

As some know, I have a four disc Studio Ghibli box set. Seven movies.
I've watched five of them, I think I'll make the other two on Saturday.
Grave of the Fireflies is so damn sad, breaks your heart how war just beat
this whole family into the ground.

Aimee has replaced one looser boyfriend with another looser boyfriend.
I am just thrilled.
But she is also - supposedly- applying for jobs around the area.
I'll believe that when I see it.

Kelsey will be getting her braces on June 27. I laughed.
Just in time for her 13th birthday on July 15.
We, as a family, are going to go to the Sac-anime con for her birthday.
Sacramento is less than 2 hours from here - it will be fun
Kelsey wants to go as Barry the Chopper in drag - a green dress and purple sandals.
Aimee wants to go as Shampoo from Ranma 1/2 - she has a red Mandarin dress..
We'll see...

And of all the dumb things I've done - ... I joined MySpace
Seriously scary
I was looking at people in my age ground in this general area on-line
and I've actually seen two of them around town.
it just shows how small this 'city' of mine is really.

ok - I need to burn a CD - and I want to play cards, and I'm hoping to find
something to read... you just never know what might be out there....

Today was the last day of school for both kids.
woot

In other updates
Aimee broke up with her boyfriend about 10 days after prom
why she waited that long I'll never know.

I got the Cowboy Bebop CD Box set - and I'm VERY Happy with it - check out The Seatbelts they are the rockin jazz group behind most of the bebop sound.

I also got the DVD box set from Ghibli - the menus are all in Japanese - I can't wait to get to watch them - hopefully this weekend.

went to Fanime in San Jose last Saturday - see http://cjflutterbye.deviantart.com/scraps/ for pictures

so - yeah - that's the updates - more wootness..

I don't want to be here.

Something is off at home - we are just not connecting correctly.
I'm not sure what it is, but it is starting to really bug me.
All revved up, but still in the garage. I'd rather he didn't touch
at all if he wasn't going to do something about it.
But then he blames me for not coming to bed until 10.
When I do, he gets in the shower.. Excuse me? Shower? Couldn't have
done that sooner, no?

Agh
A bit of frustration - but I suppose that can be exciting too, ne?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WLFHUND CHRISTIE!!!
